James Brayshaw says the standard of umpiring was better in round seven after fewer free kicks were called.

“They were getting up towards 50 free kicks a game about a month ago,” JB said.

“Now they’re hovering between 20 and 30.

“Much, much, much better… if you’re gonna make an error, make an error letting the thing go rather than pulling the game up all the time and stopping it.”
