The moment Shaun Johnson limped from the field on Saturday night, it didn't look good.

He buckled while chasing the ball and immediately grabbed for his leg. While some presumed it was a hamstring, Triple M's Wendell Sailor was on the money.

"It's behind the knee," Triple M's Wendell Sailor said.

"The physio was working on it before."

The NZ Herald has said today that Johnson's season is over, and he'll also be ruled out of the World Cup campaign.

He's reportedly ruptured his ACL and is looking at seven months recovery time.

Johnson will have scans on Monday.
