Melbourne based scientist Prof. Bill Corcoran joined the Hot Breakfast this morning to reveal the groundbreaking development regarding internet speeds.
Prof. Corcoran explained how the major universities have collaborated to develop a chip that increases internet speeds to be up to a million times faster than the NBN.

For all the tech heads out there, Corcoran explained that internet speeds of up to 40 terabits per second have been achieved.
Unfortunately our current mobile devices are not compatible to these extreme speeds, but it can be used in more complexed devices and aid researchers.
However, this will give telecommunication companies the opportunities to watch how these speeds assist other forms of technology before implementing it on our simple mobile devices.
