Iggy Pop kicked off his Australian tour in Sydney last night, we sent Triple M's Becko along, check out his review:
It’s hard to believe that Iggy Pop, over 40 years ago was playing that famous, stinky dive bar in NYC, CBGB. Jumping off that small stage, into a tightly packed crowd – crowd surfing Iggy pop style!
That’s where this chapter of punk rock began.
Last night at the Sydney Opera House, we saw a true punk show.
It was wild, but at the same time, his band was so tight. Only the best of the best play with Iggy Pop, as we saw on his latest album, 2016's Post Pop Depression that enlisted Josh Homme and Arctic Monkey's Matt Helders, and one of the most famous music pairing of Iggy Pop and David Bowie.
Iggy emerges with a leopard print jacket donning the famous 'Raw Power' street walking Cheetah on the back, tight jeans and a studded, diamante belt, but it only took about half a song to get the jacket off, and my god it’s always a sight!
