How to vote at the 2021 Tasmanian Election

Make your vote count!

28 January 2022

The Tasmanian election is set to take place on Saturday May 1st 2021 and there are a number of ways to vote.

On May 1st 2021, you can vote in person from 8am to 6pm at any polling place in Tasmania.

If you are an elector for the Legislative Council division of Derwent or Windermere you will need to attend a polling place within those divisions to vote at both State and Legislative Council elections.

Polling place locations will be published closer to the day and you will find a full list in your local paper on polling day!

If you can't vote on polling day, you can vote early. There are two early voting options, pre-poll voting and postal voting.

Postal voting requires an application form which is available from any post office, TEC election office or available to download from the TEC website.

Applications close 4pm on Friday 23rd of April.

You must record your vote before 6pm on polling day, Saturday May 1st. The TEC can receive returned postal votes until 10am Tuesday May 11th.
