Shocking video of a weight-lifter being crushed under a barbell has emerged.
Jason Layt was pinned when a 120kg barbell fell on him during a workout session in a Queensland gym last week.
While Jason was rescued by a fellow gym-goer, he was down for 17 seconds and on-lookers say his face was turned blue. He was rushed to hospital but is well on the road to recovery.
This comes after a 15-year-old passed away following an accident at another Queensland gym.
Ben Shaw was crushed while trying to bench press approximately 100 kilograms on Tuesday at a PCYC Gym. He was reportedly trapped for upwards of 30 minutes and was rushed to hospital where he later died.
