An horrific crash on the New England Highway on the weekend has left one person dead and two seriously injured.
Police reported that a vehicle travelling north on the New England Highway at Glen Aplin, south of Stanthorpe, left the road and hit a tree.
One person died at the scene while two women were pulled from the wreckage and taken to Stanthorpe Hospital, they were later transferred to a Brisbane Hospital by RACQ LifeFlight.
Emergency services were called to the scene around 2.30pm locking down the highway in both directions.
