Hawthorn vice-captain Liam Shiels has been forced out of their side.
Shiels has been withdrawn for the clash against Carlton, making it the first game he will miss this season.
The Hawks have cited a hip injury as the reason for his omission.
Defender Conor Glass has come in to replace him.
