Gold Coast pocket-rocket Brandon Matera is set to return home to Western Australia over the upcoming trade period.

It looks like Fremantle will be the likely destination for the goal sneak.

Matera's manager Colin Young has confirmed that he had a medical at Fremantle and will try and to negotiate a deal with the Dockers in the coming weeks.

Matera played 10 senior games this year and snagged 22 goals.

A foot injury derailed his 2017 season after showing solid form in the early stages of the year.

Matera was part of the inaugural Gold Coast team in 2011.

He has played 101 career games and has kicked 124 goals.
