Steven Motlop officially became a Port Adelaide player today, with Geelong announcing they wouldn’t match the Power’s salary offer.

Today, the AFL announced the compensation Geelong would receive for Motlop.

The high level of compensation has come as a bit of a shock, with most onlookers thinking that the Cats would receive a second round pick.

Port have now secured Tom Rockliff and Motlop through free agency, with all signs pointing towards Melbourne’s Jack Watts looking to get traded there too.
