Geelong midfielder Brandan Parfitt's day is over against Collingwood at the MCG.

Parfitt dramatically wrenched his right hamstring trying to get to a loose ball on the northern wing early in the last term and had to be carried off.

Parfitt was having a quiet day for the Cats, registering just 14 touches and three inside 50s.

He did kick a team-lifting goal in the second quarter.

Parfitt’s injury has made a bad day worse for the Cats; they trail the Pies 14.12 (96) to 8.7 (55) early at the five minute mark of the last quarter.
