The inaugural Physical Disability Rugby League World Cup Challenge will kick off in Sydney next month as the South Sydney Rabbitohs take on English side Warrington Wolves.

Aussie comedian and The Last Leg presenter Adam Hills has been a key member of the Warrington Wolves team, who played the first  PDRL game against Leeds Rhinos earlier this year.

Since then, the game has gone from strength to strength, leading to the first international fixture at ANZ Stadium on August 30.

"Playing Physical Disability Rugby League has been one of the best experiences of my life," Hills said. "I'm really excited to show off Australia to my teammates and show off PDRL to a wider audience."

Shane Richardson, Souths General Manager of Football, echoed Hills' sentiments, saying that: "The players in the Physical Disability Rugby League are an inspiration to us all.

"They continue to play the game they love, at all ages and abilities, and the games are always well supported by our Members and fans when they play curtain raisers to our NRL fixtures.

"As a club, we're really looking forward to welcoming Adam and the Warrington team in August for what is shaping up as a great game of footy."

It's been proposed that another PDRL team will represent the UK next year, with Warrington needing to raise £50,000 for the trip.

The game will take place ahead of the Round 25 clash between the Rabbitohs and Wests Tigers.
