There are currently 1,219 people in hospital with the virus, 233 people in ICU with 123 people on ventilation.
Of the 233 in ICU, 173 people are unvaccinated, 55 have had their first jab while only five are fully vaccinated.
As Covid-19 case numbers continue to rise across NSW, vaccination rates are also rising with 81.2 percent of the eligible population now vaccinated with their first dose and 50.6 percent fully vaccinated.
South Western Sydney continues to be an area of concern with 400 of the 1,331 locally acquired cases coming from this region, while 326 were detected in Western Sydney, 164 in South Eastern Sydney and 160 in the Sydney local health district.
The new numbers come as Australia’s first shipment of Moderna vaccines arrived in Sydney from Europe overnight.
The vaccinations landed on one of two flights from Europe, packing one million doses of Moderna to distribute to nearly 2,000 pharmacies over the next week.
The vaccinations will be available to anyone aged between 12 and 59 years-old.
