Sydney Thunder leg spinner Fawad Ahmed just put on a clinic against the Sydney Sixers in the BBL’s Sydney Smash.

The Pakistani born leggy had the Sixers bats in knots, dismissing Nic Maddinson, Moises Henriques, Colin Munro and Sean Abbott on his way to figures of 4/14 from his four overs.

The 34-year-old’s figures set a new record for the Sydney Thunder:

Ahmed’s brilliant work was instrumental in the Thunder restricting the Sixers to just 9/99 from the 20 overs, with opener Dan Hughes the only batsman to make it to 20.

Ahmed was supported by Carlos Brathwaite who took 3/21 from his four overs, Shane Watson who took 1/16 and Chris Green’s 1/17.
