The founder of the Wagga Ratepayers Community, Wes Fang, says he’s grateful for the apology issued yesterday by Mayor Greg Conkey, over a statement released last month by Council’s General Manager Alan Eldridge.
Mayor Greg Conkey, on behalf of Council, formally retracted the statements made in the earlier release, during which Mr. Eldridge asserted that information published by Mr. Fang on a Wagga social media page was factually incorrect and damaging to the City of Wagga, and that Mr. Fang had unjustifiably sought to bring Council into disrepute.
Mr. Fang has told Nine News Riverina he's pleased that Council took the issue seriously and apologised.
