Essendon ruckman Tom Bellchambers will be free to face North Melbourne next week after avoiding suspension for striking West Coast ruckman Nic Naitanui.
Bellchambers has instead been fined $2000 for the indiscretion which left Naitanui gasping for air during the Bombers’ superb 28-point win over the Eagles at Optus Stadium on Thursday night.
There were no other matters from the game that required a detailed explanation from match review officer Michael Christian.
Bellchambers was instrumental in helping the Bombers make it four wins from their past five games against the Eagles.
