Esperance Yarning and Healing Dolls is an exhibition of artworks created over 12 months as part of the Esperance Nyungar Doll-Making project. The artworks will be displayed in a pop-up gallery, in shop 5, 3 James Street, in the Esperance CBD. Participants will showcase doll-making, ecodyeing and basket-makign techniques learned through a series of workshops with visiting Noongar artists Geri Hayden & Marcelle Riley and with local workshop faciltiator Colleen Frost.
The official opening event will take place on Thursday 19th October from 4pm - 7pm. Catering will be provided by Brown Sugar and all are welcome. Exhibition opening hours will be annouced at the opening event.
This project is a part of a partnership between Esperance Community Arts, Escare incorporated and the Seawater Familes group. It has been funded through a Community Engagement grant from Department of Culture & the Arts, plus funding from Lotterywest and the Shire of Esperance.
Going from Thursday the 19th of October – Sunday November the 5th, this runs 10am - 4pm each day.
