Eddie McGuire says that the AFL has made it too hard for umpires to officiate games at footy, and suggested it will be on the agenda at today’s competition committee meeting.

LISTEN HERE:

“What we’ll be talking about this morning at this competition commission, but I think the rules of the game have now gone past the structure of the umpiring… I think the administration made it almost untenable for the umpies to do their job” Ed said.

“They now have to count who’s in the goal square, who’s in the forward 50, run around, they have to be Olympic athletes, they have to bounce a ball… you try and bounce a ball that’s on to a grassy, that’s on grass with a bit of dew on it with one of those yellow balls.

“It’s almost impossible.”
