Eagles coach Adam Simpson says that star forward Josh Kennedy is a certain starter against Collingwood in a fortnight's time.
The Eagles easily accounted for the Lions today, and in doing so booked a home final against the Magpies.
Speaking after the game, he said he was extremely happy with his team's performance this season.
“We started the year really well, went through a bit of adversity in the back half – obviously losing some games and losing Nic [Naitanui], and then the whole [Andrew] Gaff incident was difficult.
“To lock away top two, it took us until the last round, but we’re ecstatic, really proud of our players.”
“There seems to be a really good spirit amongst the club, and the players are driving that.
“I think the leadership and maturity of the group, with the list changing a little bit throughout the season from last year, there’s more responsibility on some of our younger leaders coming through, and they’ve grown in that space.”
