As we lead up to the last ever AFL call by the great Dennis Cometti, he tells Lachy and Embers from The Rush Hour in Perth about how a casual conversation with Malcolm Blight might have led to that infamous hit on Dermott Brereton.
It was aboard a flight where, whilst seated together, Dennis casually mentioned a WAFL player "he'd prefer not to name" who had a history of taking players out.
"The best way to take care of this bloke is when he's locked onto his target, you lock onto him and take him out."
The rest, as they say, is history.
