Triple M Footy news breaker Damian Barrett says that young Hawthorn star Ryan Burton is happy to go to Port Adelaide before the close of the trade period.
Burton was reported to have been devastated when he was initially linked to a move away from the Hawks to facilitate a deal for Chad Wingard to move from the Power, but has apparently warmed to the idea.
“There's an awareness now at Hawthorn that he's happy to be part of this [Chad Wingard] deal,” Damo said on Trade Radio.
He also reassured Hawks fans unhappy about Burton’s probable exit.
“Alastair Clarkson drove it but they just get it right,” he said.
“These deals don't blow up in their face.”
