Executed crime boss, Bilal Hamze

The cousin of Brothers 4 Life founder and Goulburn Supermax inmate, Bassam Hamzy, was shot dead in Sydney’s CBD on Thursday night.

Emergency services located 34-year-old Bilal Hamze on Bridge Street at 10:25PM and treated him on the scene before transporting the underworld figure to a hospital. He died a short time later.

It was believed Hamze was aware there was a bounty on his head and had been living in the Central Business District in an attempt to dissuade potential hitmen.

Police said they would be investigating any links between the execution and an ongoing gang war between the Hamzys and the Alameddines.

Bilal’s cousin, Bassam Hamzy, was recently sentenced to 40 years at Goulburn Supermax Prison for the direction of the Brothers 4 Life gang and his involvement in the killing of 15-year-old Brayden Dillon in 2017.

Police are urging anyone with information about this incident to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or here.
