Locals and holiday makers around the Coffs Harbour Jetty area and Park Beach have had to endure the stench of sewage over recent weeks.

The odour coming from the nearby Coffs Harbour Water Reclamation is hoped to disappear in coming days.

By not before some visitors have been deterred from the smell.

One Armidale family told Triple M they decided to cut their stay short due to the uncomfortable smell while staying near the Jetty.

A fire at the Englands Road Biomass Plant in July has seen Council have to find a new location to transport biosolids.

According to Glenn O’Grady from the Coffs Harbour City Council, operators of the Biomass Plant the facility will be back in operation by March at this stage.

Mr O’Grady told Triple M’s Moffee, “the sludge is stabilizing and the odour should be eliminated within a week”.
