The state-owned, Hervey Range Road was blocked to traffic after more than a dozen land slips caused damage to the road surface.
Infrastructure Committee Chair Cr Mark Molachino said Council crews are working quickly to repair the road - with most of the works already complete.
“More than 300 metres of damaged road base has been dug up from both sides of the road.” Cr Molachino said.
“Once the road has been replaced, crews will add line markings and new guard railings.
“Council is working closely with the Queensland Government Department of Transport and Main Roads in delivering this important work and we expect to have one lane of the road open to traffic by this weekend and the road open fully by next week.”
