Channel 9 journalist Neary Ty was racially vilified in the street yesterday while reporting on a home invasion in Geelong, Victoria.

The racial slurs were caught on camera and shared on Twitter yesterday.

Neary posted the footage with the caption "You see and hear a lot on the road while reporting, but I wasn't expecting this in Geelong today".

The footage depicts Angus White, 53 approaching Ty asking "What country do you come from?” To which, Ty replies "I was born here”.

White goes on to say "Really? Well you're not a f---ing Aussie are you? If you've got such a beautiful country, f--- off back there."

The Melbourne based reporter was trying to interview White who was involved in the violent home invasion and struck with a pole.

The video post received a quick response online, condemning the way Mr White spoke to Ms Ty. His comments have been labelled as 'disgusting'.

Neary said 'He could have face charges but she won't take it any further.'
