Catholic School Teachers Strike

Stopwork Meeting This Morning

5 November 2017

Catholic school teachers in Wagga will walk off the job today, with the industrial action part of a campaign calling for the right to arbitration by the Fair Work Commission.

It’s part of rolling stopwork action being held in schools across NSW and the ACT, Rallies for Rights will also see teachers take to the streets to highlight their cause.

The Independent Education Union says the action will continue until Wednesday in the first instance, and that the strike has come about after Catholic employers failed to respond to the Union’s attempt to negotiate.
