British MPs have comprehensively voted down the UK's Brexit deal to leave the European Union, 432 to 202.

Prime Minister Theresa May accepting defeat on the historic agreement just weeks before it was set to go ahead, which now throws a massive spanner in the mix.

”Tonight’s vote tells us nothing about what it does support, nothing about how or even if it will honour the decision of the British people who took part in a referendum," Ms May told UK Parliament.

"The citizens in the EU and the UK deserve clarity on these decisions as soon as possible and those whose jobs rely on the UK deserve that clarity."

It's the worst defeat in UK Parliament since 1920, with UK Opposition Leader Jeremy Corbyn now calling for a vote of "no confidence" in May's leadership.
