Former Carlton & Brisbane superstar Brendan Fevola endured a wayward return to local footy on the weekend.

Fev booted five goals and a staggering twelve behinds in his first game playing for Hastings in the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League.

The rusty goal kicking is understandable considering this is Fev's first competitive game in over 18 months.

Hastings coach Ricky Ferraro was very impressed by the two-time Coleman Medalist's performance.

"He took some really good one-on-one contested marks and he was just smart as well," Ferraro told The Leader.

"When the ball was on the ground instead of just jumping on it he kicked it towards the goal and our boys got on the end of those toe pokes."

Fevola's inaccurate kicking didn't cost Hastings too much, as they prevailed by 47 points.
