In breaking news, there are reports that there has been an explosion at a London underground station.

Emergency services are at the scene.

It has reported that a 'fireball' has left several people with facial burns.

The explosion is believed to have been caused by a package on a Parsons Green line train in South London.

These claims are unconfirmed, as are the images below.

The BBC has reported that a witness heard a bang, with a fireball running through the train and a 'wall of flames'.

According to the UK Telegraph, passengers have been trampled and sustained crush injuries in the hurry to escape the area.

People have been stretchered into ambulances, with one BBC witness describing the station as 'covered in blood and dirt'.

The call came through to emergency crews at 8.21am local time.

London Ambulance Service has released the following statement:

"We were called at 8.20am to reports of an incident at Parsons Green underground station.

"We have sent multiple resources to the scene including single responders in cars, ambulance crews, incident response officers and our hazardous area response team, with the first of our medics arriving in under five minutes.

"Our initial priority is to assess the level and nature of injuries. More information will follow when we have it."
