It’s been revealed that Boyd Cordner has turned to a spiritual healer in a bid to get fit for the all-important Origin decider on July 12.

The Blues skipper has been seeing a Sydney inner-west energy specialist after suffering a calf strain in Origin II.

If he doesn’t prove fit coach Laurie Daley says he has plenty of back-ups in Trent Merrin, Jordan McLean and Dale Finucane.

“This says to me, they’re starting to get desperate because a lower calf tear is usually a four-to-six week injury,” said Triple M’s Ryan Girdler.

Tyson Frizell is also in doubt.

“He carried a rib injury into the Dragons game last week and came out of it with another injury,” said Girds.

Who do they draft in?

“Trent Merrin, who’s got a lot of experience, he’s played a lot of finals, he played in the Grand Final for the Dragons, and lots of times for his country.

“Or do you give a young guy a go? Do you bring someone in like Nathan Brown, who’s been in great form for Parramatta and would thrive in that Origin arena.”
