Triple M Footy announced the news with a press-release this morning:

He’s one of few players to have notched up 100 games or more with two clubs, Adelaide and Melbourne, and now in his first year of retirement Bernie Vince has joined the best club of them all – Triple M Footy.

Bernie joins Triple M Footy for the 2019 AFL Premiership season and will be a regular on Triple M Adelaide’s Dead Set Legends on Saturday mornings with Andrew Jarman and Greg Blewett.

His first gig with Triple M Footy will be this Saturday back in his home town, commentating on his old team the Adelaide Crows v Hawthorn from Adelaide Oval.

“Triple M is where I first started my radio career, if you call it a career, back in Adelaide in the early days. I always had a lot of fun with Roo and Ditts and then when I came to Melbourne, I spent a bit of time with JB and Billy as well,” Bernie said.

“It’s a very funny and entertaining team, so if I can play some small roll in entertaining people then I’ll be happy.

“I’m probably looking forward to working with Billy the most! But I also owe a lot to JB, he gave me a start on both Triple M and Channel 9. He backed me in and now here I am, I can’t wait!”

Now in its 23rd consecutive season, the Triple M Footy call not only boasts the most qualified, entertaining and star-studded team in the business, but is also Australia’s #1 AFL call on radio for any footy fan with a pulse!

Triple M’s AFL Content Director, Ewan Giles said, “Triple M Footy has always been the call the players listen to. We love bringing in new talent and developing the next generation of great footy callers. Recently retired players like Bernie bring an insight to the modern game that few can match.”

Triple M Footy kicks off for 2019 tonight with Richmond v Carlton live from the MCG. Tune in from around the country via the Triple M Footy app, online or on a radio near you!
