Australia has decided on a nickname for England number 3 James Vince: ‘Bernie’, after the Melbourne Demons midfielder.
James Brayshaw was quick to make the connection on Triple M’s coverage this morning, giving him the nickname within the first session of play.
Fans on Twitter were also quick to get around the Bernie moniker.
Bernie’s had a decent session, getting to 32 at lunch after England lost Alastair Cook in the third over of the day.
Cook’s fellow opener Mark Stoneman is also there unbeaten on 25, as England made it to 1/59 at lunch.
