A local Pharmacist is urging residents to get their yearly flu jabs across western Australia.
At a time of year when influenza infections are typically expected to decline, no one wants to see large numbers of the infections being found in the region.
Western Australia Health launched an influenza prevention campaign in May to raise awareness about getting vaccinated and encourage absolutely everyone to get the jab.
Pharmacist Ryan Norris said, “The uptake of flu vaccination this year has been fairly poor. Last year it was very well received, obviously with the scare of covid. But this year people have seemed to forgotten about it”.
Health officials claim that COVID-19 outbreaks make even more reason for people to get vaccinated against both viruses.
