Aussie Journo Shot In The Neck

Took a stray bullet to the neck

15 June 2017

An ABC journalist has tweeted "I'm okay" as he recovers from a stray bullet to the neck suffered while on the job in the Philippines.

Adam Harvey, the son of the late Nine News reporter Peter Harvey, was in the country covering the civil unrest as the local military tries to recapture a city from so-called Islamic State.

He says he'll stick around to finish the story, despite the bullet still being lodged in his neck.

He was wearing protective gear at the time he was injured.

Harvey is usually posted in Indonesia, as a correspondent working for the ABC out of Jakarta.
