Berejiklian is now asking anyone who has extended family, friends or coworkers infected with the virus, to now go and get tested.
“If you have anyone in your extended family, extended social circle or workplace that has the virus, go and get tested regardless. We are seeing cases where people don’t have symptoms and yet they’re carrying the virus and don’t know it,” she said.
Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant revealed that 11 people who are hospitalised are under the age of 35.
“Of the 17 people in intensive care, only 1 has received 1 dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine,” she said.
Meanwhile, NSW Deputy Police Commissioner Gary Worboys says police are cracking down on health breaches around New South Wales with a whopping 164 infringements handed out in the last 24 hours.
Worboys mentioned a pop-up party shutdown overnight in Manly on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
“We saw a young man with a van, some music equipment, pull up near the CBD of Manly down near South Steyne and host what we would term was a pop-up party,” he said.
