Alzheimer’s Australia in Toowoomba this Month

Next month is Alzheimer's Awareness Month.

You are not alone is the theme for Dementia Awareness Month in September.

About 3100 locals are currently living with dementia.

The number of people living with dementia in Toowoomba is expected to reach over 8200 by 2050.

Alzheimer’s Australia will be in Toowoomba later this month conducting free education sessions.

This session will provide an introduction to dementia, causes, symptoms, and typical changes that may occur. Also discussed are services available to support the person and the family including further education sessions.

Community Development Officer Lisa Toner says the workshops are for careers and families of people with dementia as well. 

WHEN:  Tuesday 22nd August

COST:  Free (funded by the Australian Government)

SUITABLE FOR: Family and friends of a person who has memory concerns and may have a diagnosis of dementia.
