Adelaide Issue Injury Update On Josh Jenkins

Released a statement

2 April 2017

Adelaide forward Josh Jenkins has been thus far cleared of serious injury to his ribs or internal organs after initial scans came back.

Jenkins was taken to Epworth Hospital after copping an errant elbow to the ribs from Hawthorn’s Teia Miles and underwent scans last night, which the club said came back positive.

“Crows forward Josh Jenkins has had initial scans which have not shown any structural damage to his ribs or internal organs,” the club said in a statement.

“He is undergoing further assessment and the club will provide another update as soon as more information is available.”

Jenkins copped the hit yesterday early in the first quarter when he and Miles were contesting a ball on the forward 50 line.

He was in clear pain immediately and had to come off and go straight to the rooms.

He was taken to an ambulance and then Epworth, where he posted a triumphant tweet after the Crows went on to win:

Adelaide won 16.17 (113) to 13.11 (89), leaving Hawthorn 0-2 after two rounds.

The Crows are 2-0 ahead of a huge showdown against Port Adelaide next Saturday night.
