Adelaide chief executive Andrew Fagan has told Triple M the club is “open-minded” to trading Mitch McGovern, but admits the trade has to work for both player and club.

FAGAN TALKS TO JARS & LOUIE:

The Crows revealed on Tuesday night that McGovern would seek a trade elsewhere, just one year into a three-year contract extension.

Fagan joined Triple M's Rush Hour with Jars and Louie on Thursday and said the club was open to trading him, but it had to be for the right price.

“He’s come to us this week and requested a trade, and that’s something that we’re open-minded to," he told Triple M Adelaide.

“His primary rationale fits a broad term of ‘fit’, just saying he doesn’t think it’s the place for him to be the best that he can be, whether it’s a personal or a football fit.

“We accept his rationale, albeit we have told him that, and he completely understands, that he’s got two years left on a contract.

“We’re open-minded to trade, but it’s got to be something that works for the football club.”
