Carlton rookie Kym LeBois channeled Eddie Betts with his first kick for the Blues in their JLT Community Series game against Melbourne at Casey Fields today.

LeBois intercepted a Melbourne handball, threw the ball on his left boot (from the wrong side) and watched it sail through.

Watch the goal here:

LeBois — who came to the club with pick 5 in last year’s rookie draft — is stiff that he’s done that in the pre-season, because it would be a contender for goal of the year during the season.

Eddie Betts eat your heart out.

The goal has so far been unable to inspire the Blues, who trail the Dees 7.5 (47) to 2.3 (15) midway through the second term.
