English boxer Stephen Smith nearly had his left ear torn off during his super featherweight bout with Francisco Vargas in Las Vegas.
A clash of heads between the two boxers in the ninth round left Smith’s ear dangling and bloodied.

Smith was stitched up at hospital nearby and is on the mend.
He took to Twitter to reassure people that he’s fine.
The bout was ended when Smith copped the injury — despite him wanting to go on — and was awarded to Vargas.
