$8.1m Richer!

24 July 2017

A 25-year-old bloke from New Jersey has beaten out 7,200 other competitors to take out the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, in his first ever live event!

Scott Blumstein took home a cool USD 8.1m for his win after honing his skills playing online poker.

Blumstein’s won the tournament with an ace of hearts and a two of diamonds, beating out fellow American Daniel Ott, who went all in with an ace of diamonds and an eight of diamonds.

“I’m really happy about how I played tonight,” Blumstein told the waiting media.

“This is just one poker tournament. It takes variance and luck and playing your best, and all those things came together, and I’m happy to be the winner.”

Well after winning $8.1m and a diamond and ruby encrusted white gold bracelet, we’d be pretty happy to be the winner of this tournament too.

Don’t feel too bad for the bloke he beat to win the tournament, Ott took home a cool $4.2m as well.
