Dan Murphy's and BWS must know it's the weekend because their wine experts have released a list, erm, listing 10 quality wines you can enjoy that cost less than ten bucks.
LESS THAN TEN BUCKS!
Without further ado... here are their recommendations.
1. Minchinbury Crisp Classic Brut NV
A little sparkler to get the weekend going! Tt features a bouquet of lifted citrus, green apple and light biscuit notes. As you do! It's bloody cold all around Oz at the moment so this will surely warm the cockles... especially when it will only cost you $9.99. This beauty from the Clare Valley in South Oz promises a vibrant, crisp finish... a bit like how we like the work week to end. There's something special about a Marlborough Sauv Blanc, and this one has it all, including the awesome price tag. Another ripper from across the ditch, with just a tinge more sweetness than the Silver Moki... it has a "...nose of tropical green fruits with lifted citrus aromas..." Whatever that means? When merlot gets mentioned, you know it's getting serious. And Shirley it's not much more serious than a quality red for only $10? Back to the whites and this little chardie offers up a "...nose of nectarine, melon and minerally. A long, textured palate with stonefruit flavours and fresh acidity." No idea what that means but for chardie lovers, this could be a goer! Sticking with another Paul Mas offering, this one a robust Cab Sauv that definitely won't bust your wallet. Nine bloody dollars... honestly? For those who like a hint of fruit in their vino, in this case, "...scents of white flowers combined with those of slightly green apples." Not bad at all! A sweet number to finish with... if you're planning on finishing up the week with an Italian tasting plate, you know, cold meats and cheese, this is your huckleberry. So there you go... 10 wine suggestions for under $10... Bargain! Written by: @dantheinternut2. GR16 Heathcote Shiraz 2016
